Similan Islands Snorkel Safari Info

The Similan Islands are a string of nine tropical islands, only a few hours by boat away from Khao Lak. Blue, crystal clear water, white sandy beaches, and colorful coral reefs make a visit to Similan an unforgettable experience.

Similan derived from the Malay word "Sembilan", what means numer nine. The Similan islands are numbered from one to nine with number one being the southernmost island.

For snorkellers, the most attractive ones are the islands number eight (Koh Bangu), number nine (Koh Similan) and island number four (Koh Miang), since these islands feature white sandy beaches, where visitors can explore and relax.

Similan’s picturesque reefs offer an abundance of marine life featuring sea turtles, colorful parrotfish and of course plenty of clownfish and countless other colorful harmless reef dwellers.

The Similan Islands National Park is open to divers and snorkellers in the months from November to April.
